Generali is the third largest insurance company in the world. It operates primarily in Europe, Middle East and East Asia and employs over 71,000 associates. Group’s activities include Life (savings, family protection and unit-linked policies) and P&C (car, home, accident and health) insurances.
While implementing the strategy of simplifying sales processes and diversifying distribution channels, Generali decided to create a solution that would streamline the work of agents tied in car insurance sales.
We have conducted workshops with Generali tied agents to learn about their work and better meet their needs. It turned out that the most time-consuming task was manually entering data from the registration documents into the sales system in order to calculate the insurance premium.
We solved this problem by creating a mobile software application that allows quick insurance premium calculation by scanning the 2DAZTEC codes from registration documents and automatically replenishing data in the sales system. In the case of temporary registration documents data is read from app-taken-photos using the Image Recognition technology.
After the data is received and premiums calculated the only thing that agents have to do is finalize the insurance sale.
Our team was responsible for the UX and UI design, mobile software development (two versions of iOS and Android applications) as well as back-end (written in the Node.js technology), which is responsible for communication between the mobile application and the Generali sales system.
By introducing new mobile applications, Generali implements the strategy of simplifying sales and service processes. In the pilot phase, the app allowed handling car insurance – through accelerating the process and facilitating customer service, Generali intended to strengthen its position in the car insurance market. Now, however, the application offers more possibilities. The agents can handle various types of insurance and control document flow (while making edits and adding missing documents whenever needed). It’s also possible to send push notifications and in-app messages.
Their unique knowledge of mobile application solutions is a major strength. Due to this fact, our Mobile Application for Agents is very popular and gladly used by our Agents.
We are very satisfied with the service provided by Future Mind. The project was graded as successful by all the Stakeholders.
